Sustainable Fashion
A Handbook for Educators

While there is much information available about the social and environmental impact of the fashion industry, there is only a small body of materials exploring how to teach about the issues. This handbook from Fashioning an Ethical Industry aims to fill that gap.
It contains 45 contributions, mainly from the USA, UK and Austria, but also from Poland, The Netherlands and Australia, bringing together practical ideas on how to teach about social and environmental responsibility in the fashion industry. It has ideas for assignments, class-based interactive activities, project briefs, course outlines, case studies, teaching experiences and reading lists.
Whilst many of these are for tutors and students in colleges of fashion at undergraduate or postgraduate level, there are some articles relevant to school students. Also, many activities can be adapted for upper secondary and post-16 students, and there is a wealth of background reading material for teachers and students alike.
