Fairtrade Fortnight – Primary Assembly: Protecting People and Planet

This role play assembly is a fun way to tell the story of the Ngoleagorbu cocoa farmers living by the edge of the Gola Rainforest. It helps students to understand how Fairtrade protects both people and planet.
It is designed to be performed by a class of students to the rest of the school.

Fairtrade Fortnight – Therese’s Story

This story will transport you to a farm in Côte d’Ivoire where you will have the chance to meet an inspiring cocoa farmer named Therese Kouame.

Therese’s story on powerpoint is a fantastic way to teach students about cocoa farming in Cote d’Ivoire, basic human needs and the importance of a living income for cocoa farmers. At the end of the story you will find a list of suggested follow-up activities to consolidate student learning.

Fairtrade Fortnight – Beshey’s Story

This story will transport you to a village in Western Sierra Leone where you will have the chance to meet Beshey Konneh, a 14-year-old-boy whose parents are cocoa farmers.
Beshey’s Story is a fantastic way to teach students about daily life in rural Sierra Leone, different types of agriculture in the country, and the difference between cash crops and subsistence crops. At the end of the story you will find a list of suggested follow-up activities to consolidate student learning.
